At Wrights Mower Centre we support our local village and charities.
Visit us at SheprethHere at Wrights Mower Centre, it’s not all about the profit. We like to do a good job, and we have pride in our work. We also like to put something back into the community by supporting numerous village events with the donation of raffle prizes and supportive adverts. Here is the trophy we present to the winners of the annual lawnmower racing competition in our local village.
We have a collection tin on the counter for Wood Green Animal Shelters, small repair jobs and blade sharpening are often done for free, with a request for donations into the Wood Green tin. The nearest Wood Green shelter to us is at Heydon. We like to help them out when we can, and over the years have given mowers, strimmers and hedgecutters to help them maintain their sites.
The most recent has been big barrows and trolleys to help move food and bedding round the small animal pens, and the fabulous newly refurbished cat houses. They do a wonderful job of re-homing unwanted and stray animals, and the animals would be much worse off without them.

In the shop, we host a brick-a-brac table and second-hand bookstall where items can be bought to support the work of Norfolk Greyhound Rescue, a rescue charity which pledges to find loving homes for unwanted and abused greyhounds. Norfolk Greyhounds rescue these dogs from the pound, where they are often on death row.
They are often young and bright and make wonderful family pets, yet without Norfolk Greyhound Rescue’s help, they would often have no chance of a happy life, or any life at all. These dogs are very dear to our hearts and I am pleased to say the table raises around £1000 a year, with the generous help of our wonderful customers.
